Adaptability Therapy is a provider of Occupational Therapy services, operating in the greater Brisbane region, Toowoomba, Ipswich, Caboolture and the Sunshine Coast. We provide Occupational Therapy input to children, adolescents and adults from all walks of life, with a focus on enabling our clients to live their best life.


We complete needs assessments, prescription of equipment and home modifications, training and education of participants, their carers and families as well as ongoing therapy to work on functional goals and activities of daily living.

The opportunity

An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team, working with a diverse caseload and a strong focus on genuine capacity building with individuals and families.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for working with children as part of an MDT.


This role is home and community-based with regular travel to client locations and you will provide the highest-quality Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for children, adolescents and young adults with autism, intellectual disability, attention deficit disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, feeding disorders, sensory processing challenges and other behavioural and developmental disabilities.

What you'll do

  • Provide functional and psychosocial assessments using a range of tools and approaches
  • Design therapy plans that are holistic, centred around a person’s aspirations and define clear outcomes
  • Work proactively to adapt and maximise each person’s environment, reduce barriers, support the development of skills and identify new ways to engage clients and support them to participate and thrive
  • Guide equipment decisions relating to daily activities and assistive technology where appropriate
  • Demonstrate excellent communication with all stakeholders and the ability to use technology and online tools for assessment and reporting
  • Contribute to shaping and growing the service within a dynamic environment
  • Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the team

Requirements

  • Unrestricted Australian working rights
  • Current AHPRA registration as an OT
  • Current valid drivers licence & reliable vehicle
  • Ability and willingness to drive as required
  • 3+ years of clinical experience (Predominately paeds focussed)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated commitment to PD, quality improvement and evidence-based practice
  • A professional, warm and open mindset
