Exciting Clinical Nurse roles available within Retrieval Services Queensland (RSQ) coordinating aeromedical retrieval and advice for patients across Queensland

The role

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, RSQ, you will:

  • Be responsible for the provision of clinical expertise in both the coordination of patient retrieval and telehealth support for clinicians and patients throughout Queensland
  • Use your clinical experience to remotely recognise and manage deteriorating patients
  • Use a flexible and adaptable approach in an unpredictable and pressured environment
  • Think quickly, creatively and use advanced communication skills to liaise with referring clinicians and contracted aeromedical providers to ensure high quality patient retrieval.

The successful person

You will have:

  • A minimum of five (5) years current or recent clinical experience working in a critical care environment.
  • Demonstrable extensive experience in providing critical care to a broad range of patient types including adult, paediatric, neonatal and obstetrics.
  • Rural and remote nursing experience is desirable
  • Advanced nursing assessment, care planning and problem-solving skills.
  • An ability to implement and evaluate appropriate clinical care and understand emerging trends in nursing practice.
  • Advanced communication skills
  • An ability and flexibility to work 24-hour shift arrangements as required 
  • Registration with Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority (mandatory)
  • Evidence of vaccination against specified vaccine preventable diseases: [hepatitis A], [hepatitis B], measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough)], [tuberculosis].
