The Role

The successful candidate will assist with the ongoing and day-to-day provision of HSEQ support, advice, training, mentoring, reporting functions and systems maintenance for our SRG Global Asset Services Pilbara operations and to assist the Group HSE Operations Manager with the development, roll out and maintenance of the organisation's HSE management system, plans and specific programs with regards to Maintenance projects.

We are seeking safety professionals with a strong background in electrical, mechanical and access works.

This role will be based in Port Hedland and service several of our Pilbara regional sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships across all levels of the business to effectively influence and implement the SRG Global safety and quality standards and culture of zero harm.
  • Assist with the development of key safety and quality activities at a business level.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, alerts and other safety and quality documentation at a business level.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the SRG Global HSEQ system requirements including induction and training, hazard and risk identification, hazard and risk control, event reporting, event analysis, monitor and review and other actions directed by the Asset Services Operational Manager, Group HSE Operations Manager and Group Quality and Compliance Manager.
  • Undertake reviews of event reports and assist operations on determining causes and actions to prevent recurrences.
  • Assist in the maintenance and review of risk registers for the business.
  • Advise and direct business personnel on HSE and Quality regulations and compliance issues.
  • Assist business personnel with workplace and site inspections.
  • Conduct FFW testing, ergonomic, function job assessments as required.
  • Provide guidance and support as required for the development and review of team-based risk assessments.
  • Communicate HSE notifications related to issues as and when they arise, through toolbox meetings, safety committee meetings and memorandums.
  • Assist OSH Representatives and coordinate OSH Committee activities.
  • Assist business management with action outcomes from internal and external audits.
  • Undertake, where required, accident investigations for accidents, on-the-job injuries, and other HSE related complaints to determine cause, contributing factors, and corrective action to prevent recurrence.
  • Utilise the SRG Global HSE Event Management System to monitor events and provide guidance and support within area of responsibility.
  • Assist with Injury Management and RTW in consultation with the Injury Management Business Partner.
  • Facilitate internal training programs as required.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Sound electrical, mechanical and access experience working in the industrial environment required
  • Diploma in WHS (Minimum).
  • WA Electrical License (Desirable)
  • Rope Access Qualification (Desirable)
  • High Risk Work Licence in Scaffolding and Rigging (Desirable)
  • Formal incident investigation qualification (ICAM required).
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Good working knowledge of WHS Legislation.
  • Safety management system experience.
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Strong computer and systems skills and knowledge
