Lead Project Controller - Fixed term Contract

Work Location: Iron Bridge

Roster: 14D/7R

This position provides for the collection, collation and reporting of cost, quantity and schedule data related to the project. This allows for the evaluation and forecasting of progress and assists with the control and forecasting of our project.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Supervises a Project Controls team of Cost Controllers, Planners and Quantity surveyors on site.
  • Working closely with the Owner’s Construction supervision team and Site Construction Contractors, the role will involve collecting, collating and challenging cost, quantity and schedule data, ensuring that data is received in the appropriate format and on a timely basis.
  • Ensuring the data is captured in to the Project Controls cost and schedule systems.
  • Reviewing and processing contractor claims.
  • Test and examine project controls data and provide forecasts for the project work packages. The analysis will examine any deviations from the budget and plan and provide reasons for the deviations and suggestions for corrections where budgets are exceeded.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports as required. The regular reports will cover progress and costs and final forecast cost at completion. They will include but not be limited to QMR reports, Progress S-Curves and Trends.
  • Maintains close contact with the Owner’s Contracts team to ensure that the contract data is accurate.
  • Contributes to and reviews the scopes of work and contract conditions.
  • Assists with claims evaluations.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • At least 5 years in a similar position, with a strong background in working with major SMP, E&I Contractors on large construction projects.
  • Solid experience in working with QMR reports, Progress S-Curves and forecasting.
  • Site experience a necessity.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with integrated computerised financial systems.
  • High level organisational skills, resource management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads, work autonomously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with extensive analytical and problem solving skills.
