JOB DESCRIPTION

about the role

Based in the local Darwin area, this hands-on position reports to the General Manager and is responsible for managing compliance and implementation of all HSEQ procedures and policies.

You will maintain administrative integrity of the full HSEQ suite while evaluating and monitoring the effectiveness of management systems, processes and documents to ensure company objectives are maintained and a safe and healthy workplace is achieved.

You will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Work with management, supervisors, staff, contractors and clients to ensure successful delivery of the HSEQ policy and systems.
  • Manage ISO accreditation and ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation requirements.
  • Provide HSEQ reports as required by management and project teams
  • Monitor training requirements and organise or deliver required training programs.
  • Ensure reporting and investigation of incidents, hazards, defects, non-conformances and review the causes with collaboration with the team, then recommending actions or improvements required.
  • Management of Workers Compensation claims and liaising between the insurer and injured worker.

about you

To succeed in this role, you will be highly organised, have a strong work ethic and thrive in a fast paced, changeable environment and will possess the following:

  • Minimum Cert IV in Health & Safety and Workplace Training and Assessment or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity in either commercial construction, transport, manufacturing or similar industry
  • Experience in dealing with Tier 1 clients
  • Willingness to visit/attend regional or remote sites including staying over
  • Ability to obtain defence site clearance (Australian citizenship required)
