Our long-standing partnerships with organisations across Australia and New Zealand play a strong role in driving consumer awareness, education, engagement, and in the case of our community partners, provide funds to further these important causes.
bp's Asia Pacific marketing team is looking for a clever, customer-centric Community and Marketing Activation Advisor to join the brand and communications team. This role is crucial in growing bp's engagement with communities and customers, leveraging bp's sponsorship and community partnerships across Australia and New Zealand to drive engagement with both bp and our partners' offers.
You are someone with experience in marketing and campaign development who has a positive can-do approach to work. You know how to bring an activation to life in an innovative and immersive way, thrive on the challenge of working independently, and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and across multiple priorities. You recognize the power of positivity and are known for your capacity to bring a friendly supportive 'vibe' to the team.

More about the role
Working closely with colleagues in the Brand & Communications and Communications & Advocacy teams, you will:

  • Deliver campaign and event activity in support of community partners, currently including Surf Life Saving NZ, Young Enterprise Trust (NZ), McGrath Foundation (Au), OzHarvest (Au), and Royal Flying Doctor Service (Au); and in support of bp's Reconciliation Action Plan commitments (Au)
  • Work with business stakeholders to identify and deliver sponsorship and events activations, including V8 Supercars
  • Share best practice with other bp markets across the region and with bp internal teams to identify opportunities and achieve best outcomes and efficiencies possible
  • Provide support to the wider brand and communications team as required

Some travel may be required to support events and activations.

As the successful candidate you:

  • Know great events and campaigns don't just happen by chance. You bring strong project management skills and a meticulous attention to detail
  • Have a customer centric approach to all that you do, including turning customer insight into compelling engagement and experiences that help build customer engagement over time
  • Have had community partnership and/or sponsorship execution experience
  • Understand and have experience using a variety of aligned content and distribution channels to optimise marketing messages
  • Are a team player who engages constructively and collaboratively with business stakeholders and external agency partners
  • See opportunities not problems - you're a great problem solver and respond constructively and swiftly to unexpected challenges
  • Bring a positive personality and upbeat, can-do attitude
  • Are excited about bp's purpose of reimagining energy for people and our planet
