We are seeking applications from experienced CBTC / Systems Engineering Expert to join our team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Technical Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and Systems Engineering input to the Engineering and Design teams with particular input into the CITYFLO 650 CBTC system. Identify engineering areas of concern to the project and ensure they are addressed at the right level.

Provision of technical support to the functions for requirements management, technical interfaces with other projects, risk identification and mitigation, Lead the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to advise the Alliance Manger and Alliance Management Team (AMT) on technological issues and to investigate areas of concern that the AMT may have about strategic decisions and technological issues that arise throughout the project.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include The Following

CITYFLO 65O Expertise

  • Provide technical knowledge and experience of the CITYFLO 650 CBTC system into the Engineering team to progress the project and develop a level of understanding of the product within Melbourne.
  • Systems Engineering
  • Provide support to the Systems Engineering Manager and team to develop and follow processes necessary to achieve the desired project outcomes.


Technical Responsibility
  • Chair the Technical Advisory Group and provide input into the Alliance Management Team for technical issues across the RSA project.


Safety And Environment Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to the SHE Cultural Framework, policies, Safety Essentials and Management System requirements and expectations;
  • Develop and maintain an awareness of SHE hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks;
  • Understand and effectively undertake SHE accountabilities.


It is expected you will have the following qualifications, experience and personal characteristics:
  • Tertiary qualification in an electrical or related engineering field that has led to a career and further on the job education in the design and delivery of complex Railway Signalling and Controls systems.
  • 10 years of experience.
  • CBTC work experience in industry is essential
  • Previous deployment of CBTC in a brown field site is beneficial
  • A solid understanding of the core principles of CITYFLO 650 is essential, with at least 5 years of systems engineering experience.
