We are seeking applications from experienced System Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, Victoria. Reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be providing Technical and Systems Engineering input to the Engineering and Design teams with input into the CBTC system. Identify engineering areas of concern to the project and ensure they are addressed at the right level.

Provision of technical support to the functions for requirements management, systems architecture, sub-systems, technical interfaces with other projects, interface control documents, development of technical papers, risk identification and mitigation.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include The Following

CBTC Expertise

Provide technical knowledge and experience of the CBTC system into the Engineering team to progress the project and develop a level of understanding of the CBTC systems within Melbourne.

Systems Engineering

Provide support to the Systems Engineering Manager and team to develop and follow processes necessary to achieve the desired project outcomes. Specifically, related to system architecture, technical requirements, product requirements, operational requirements and performance requirements.

Requirements Management

Development and decomposition of requirements to support the work of the design, installation, testing, training, operations and systems assurance functions. This will include the delivery of papers with a proposed solution consistent with our processes

It is expected you will have the following qualifications, experience and personal characteristics:

  • Tertiary qualification in an electrical or related engineering field that has led to a career and further on the job education in the design and delivery of complex Railway Signalling and Controls systems.
  • 8-10 years of experience.
  • Railway experience in industry is essential
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices
  • A solid understanding of the core principles of CBTC is essential, with at least 5 years of systems engineering experience.
