The opportunity

As the Portfolio Manager Real Assets you will actively engage with external managers to monitor and review existing investments as well as help research and source new investment opportunities. Under the direction of the Global Head of Real Assets, manage Real Assets portfolio strategies with respect to target risk and return profiles, regulatory frameworks, capital efficiency and organizational needs. You will be integral to ensuring timely reporting and management of Real Assets portfolio and contribute to the overall successful delivery of Group Investments’ objectives.

  • Assists with the management and implementation of Real Assets investments. Provides support to the Global Head of Real Assets in on-going portfolio management duties.
  • Supports investment ideas and portfolio changes across currencies and jurisdictions and implementing them consistently to achieve target investment objectives
  • Develops quantitative and qualitative assessment processes to identify and monitor externally managed funds. Provides reporting on asset class and investments for Group and Divisional stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the implementation of ESG factors into our investment process.
  • Establishes and maintains exposures consistent with the agreed strategy for nominated Real Assets portfolios
  • Complies with all delegated authorities and risk parameters incorporated in investment mandates and regulatory frameworks and demonstrate understanding of the risk management framework.
  • Provides timely and accurate reporting on portfolio performance and investment characteristics and market conditions for divisional clients and Board(s) as required
  • Provides business and product knowledge for relevant project management activities.

Your story so far

  • In-depth understanding of financial markets, economics, alternative investments, portfolio theory and investment structures.
  • Demonstrated solid experience in the investment field, with a focus on strategy development, portfolio construction and manager selection.
  • Relevant industry experience working with Real Assets including infrastructure and property; infrastructure would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience in designing and implementing illiquid asset portfolios and manager selection.
  • Customer-focused with excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of establishing and maintaining relationships across the business and influencing where required.
  • ·Experience in RFP and Due Diligence processes.
  • Adaptable, embraces change and pro-active in challenging and improving business processes.
  • High level problem solving, decision-making, & negotiation.
