We are JOY, an independent, full-service agency filled with a multi-skilled team that deliver across brand strategy, media, social, creative and production. We design holistic and innovative marketing campaigns that transform brands into favourites.

We are proud of our family-oriented culture (#JOYfam) that is centred around our core values: care, substance, vision and, of course, joy. It is the consistent delivery of these values that creates such strong internal and external relationships.

Currently we are on the hunt for a Senior Account Director to join our team.

As a Senior Account Director at JOY, you will be responsible for the holistic delivery and quality control of the overall client plan. The role requires someone who is strategically very strong and that has experience across all aspects of marketing – not just advertising. You will work across a range of client categories including auto, beauty, tech and finance.

This is an opportunity to work in a highly integrated agency, collaborating heavily with media, social and strategy teams to create truly holistic campaigns that deliver real and meaningful results for clients. This role will report directly into our Managing Director.

  • Fully understand the category in which each brand in your portfolio operates through the application of the JOY’s brand audit and decode process.
  • Be the voice of the consumer/customer in every meeting. Bring an informed view and VISION on what will drive them to act based on an understanding of behavioural science.
  • Management of process improvements between all teams.
  • Maintain a strong focus on performance and optimisation at all times. Always share results with a point of view on what is limiting or driving success.
  • At JOY we blur the lines between creative and media so the expectation is you will fully immerse yourself and contribute to the entire go to market plan.
  • Own and lead the end-to-end management of the strategic and creative development process - including taking briefs from clients, helping to develop the strategy, briefing creative teams, ensuring work is ready on time, contributing to the presentation of strategic and creative responses, and overseeing the implementation process.
  • Take full responsibility for the management of workflow, internal administration and financial ownership to meet yearly budgets.
  • Lead and mentor direct report/s in a proactive and motivating manner where you contribute to their professional development.
  • Work on pitches and new business in addition to driving your own client portfolio.

  • 6 years minimum creative agency experience across all channels – ideally with a strong focus in digital.
  • Must be an AU citizen or have appropriate AU working visa.

  • Are experienced in leading a team of direct reports
  • Accomplish objectives effectively within the time frame given and carry out administrative duties in an efficient and timely manner
