About the role

We are currently looking for Metallurgists to join our Technical Services team. Based in Perth, these roles will be responsible for the provision of metallurgical input into resource evaluation projects, specialising in metallurgical aspects including crushing, screening, material handling and beneficiation of iron ore resources.

Reporting to the Senior Metallurgists you will:

  • Manage activities associated with drill core processing, process modelling, metallurgical test work and analysis
  • Work with other disciplines to ensure all aspects are considered when carrying out study related activities
  • Apply best practice wet and dry processing knowledge into studies from concept through to feasibility
  • Use plant models, bench and pilot scale test work to develop and assess flowsheet options for new resource developments
  • Ensure all relevant metallurgical aspects and risks are considered and controlled when providing input to resource development study phases
  • Provide ad-hoc operational support and sharing of technical knowledge and outcomes with relevant stakeholders

What you’ll bring

You will have tertiary qualifications in metallurgy, mineral processing, process or chemical engineering and be someone who is able to identify opportunities to improve processing deliverables for the business. Previous processing or operational experience will be advantageous, however candidates who are newly graduated or looking to commence their professional career are also encouraged to apply.

Knowledge of process plant and an understanding of design principles for major ore processing equipment will be beneficial. You will be analytical in your approach and have strong problem solving and report writing skills and have the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Prior project management experience and an understanding of studies process from conceptual through to feasibility and implementation will be well regarded.
