The Big Picture: Due to our current and future workload expectations, Howden Australia has an immediate need for a Field Service Technician/Engineer to support our Howden product range in the Power, Industrial and process plants located in Australia and South East Asia.The main focus of this role is to ensure new and aftermarket Howden products in the field are installed, maintained and operated to Howden standards and client requirements in a safe and reliable way.In return, you’ll receive a competitive base salary, above average superannuation guarantee, annual bonus and reimbursement towards health & fitness related costs. What needs to be done?More specifically, your responsibilities will include:Visiting sites to undertake balancing and/or laser alignment, identify the cause of the problem and rectify this on site (if possible), or advise of further action to be taken to ensure our customers production losses are minimised.Undertake servicing in terms of customer planned maintenance contracts and breakdowns, check equipment, carry out required maintenance and produce a report of work completed in order to comply with the Service Level Agreement.Commissioning of new installations including:Supervision of new installed products, including fans, air heaters and compressors.Checking the installation and alignment of equipment, including starting machinery, checking vibrations and temperatures and running the fan for a test period.Completing the Commissioning Report including check sheets and a Completion Certificate for contract closures.Ensuring the machine is ready for full production service.Manage contract staff, liaise with client representatives, budget management and maintain schedules including progress reports, OHSE, quality control, equipment and accommodation management to ensure acceptable results are achieved for both Howden and our clients.Carry out detailed machinery analysis, interpret results and liaise with the Howden Engineering Department on how to most efficiently resolve our customers’ problems.Provide Aftermarket sales support including survey and reporting and conducting site visits with our Design Engineers.Take all reasonable care for your own personal health and safety, as well as for that of everyone who may be affected by your actions in your workplace.Liaise and co-operate with company management with regards to the current health and safety legislation and obligations within the location and area where you are performing your duties.What do you need to bring? You are a qualified Mechanical Tradesperson with a minimum of 6 years post qualification experience of working with rotating assemblies in an industrial/mining/power environment.You are competent in balancing small and large rotating assemblies using balancing analysers and in shaft alignment on rotating machinery and air heater overhaul and inspections. You can confidently find solutions to complex machinery problems.
