Queensland’s Energy industry is recovering well in 2021 as such we are now seeking an experienced Well Operations Field Lead to fulfil a 12 month contract position based in Queensland with a major in energy.As a key member of the Owner’s team the primary responsibility of the Well Operations Field Lead. The Well Operations Field Lead, Drilling & Completions is responsible for the field co-ordination of the businesses Australia’s east coast unconventional (coal seam gas) land Drilling & Completions scope in accordance with the HSSE standards, Statutes, Regulations and Company Policies. Due to the competitive nature of onshore plays, wells must be drilled and completed as efficiently as possible while complying with Regulatory and Company standards and maintaining industry leading performance in HSSE. Success relies on the ability of the Wells group to deliver low cost wells.The Well Operations Field Lead is a senior leader in the field and is key in the execution of Well Programmes covering established Drilling & Completions scope. They provide oversight of daily well operations and logistics plans, ensuring that activities are executed as per standards and managing operations in line with approved budgets. Within field operations the Well Operations Field Lead plays an important role in provide timely performance feedback to develop the team and role models technical excellence and a high standard of behaviour. Responsibilities will include though are not limited to:Ensuring operations and HSSE reporting are carried out in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.Supporting and reviewing engineering plans, including assessing and managing project risks at the front-line and working closely with planning engineers and operations staff to make high quality work decisions.Cultivating a continuous improvement culture by documenting trouble time & costs, following up Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and sharing lessons learnt improvement ideas with field supervisors (OCRs – Operating Company Representatives) and Wells Engineers (WE).Working closely with OCRs and WEs to implement improvement plans and/or new technology ideas in our journey to reach Company Wells’ targetsContract Management – Providing input and suggestions on service contracts to enable high performance.Managing contractor services in the field in line with contract management plans & quality plansCapability development – A critical aspect of the Field Lead job is coaching less experienced staff and supporting contractors to achieve alignment between organisational and contractor goals. The WOFL has no direct subordinates though he/she will have direct and regular interactions with OCRs, Night OCRs and other 3rd party personnel and is a vital role model and mentorDeveloping strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as Corporate and Regionally based Wells, Production, Subsurface, HSSE, Regulatory, Land Access, Logistics, Contracting & Procurement teams, in addition to Contractors & Suppliers.Supporting the Well Operations Team Lead in managing the rosters and work schedule of field supervisors.Overseeing the well handover/handback between Wells and Production AssetsManaging HSSE, demonstrating strong commitment to Goal Zero and the integration of safety programmes in work plans. Promoting sustainable development in all activities and ensuring compliance with business principles in accordance with the company Code of Conduct and upholding the reputation as a responsible operator.To succeed in the role of Well Operations Field Lead it is vital to have:A current IWCF Level 4 Drilling certificateDemonstrated experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with proven experience in the field planning and executing daily operations including minimum of 15 years of experience in a Wellsite Leadership PositionExperience supervising high pressure pumping works which involved high volume of chemicals and logistic turnaroundsExcellent people skills and ability to build a collaborative environment with the field team and contractor personnel.Ability to seek out and integrate a wide range of viewpoints. Comfortable working with ambiguity and competing priorities.Energy and drive for continuous improvement in a field execution environment. Along with this your professionalism and leadership qualities will enable effective communication with the team ensuring cohesion and commitment to organizational processes and safe work practices. The successful Well Operations Field Lead will be will be based in Queensland working a 3 weeks on 3 weeks off rotation.
