Role Overview
The main objective of the role is to utilise a specialised skillset to work on marine based GeoConsulting projects in Australia and South East Asia as part of our Perth based GeoConsulting Services team. You will be part of a greater team and are required to contribute and collaborate to create solutions that are fit for purpose.
We are looking for someone with strong project management skills and demonstrable experience in leading a team to deliver complex projects. This would include the integration of geological, geophysical and geotechnical datasets.
The ideal candidate has experience logging geotechnical and geological core and will have field experience in leading formal geochemistry and geology projects for seeking hydrocarbon seeps.
Fugro operates a fleet of geotechnical and geophysical vessels and the successful candidate should be willing and able to spend significant amounts of time on such vessels. We anticipate that this may be 2 to 3 months per year.
Required to be successful in the role
A Masters or PhD degree in geoscience from a recognised university, or equivalent experience
A minimum of 8 years post university working experience in a related field
A minimum of 8 years interpreting geophysical datasets including 3D seismic, 2D seismic, side scan sonar, multibeam echo sounder bathymetry and backscatter, and sub-bottom profiler
Experience working with Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy clients in the marine sector
Proficiency with relevant software including Kingdom suite, GeODin, UniPlot, Starfix WorkBench, ArcGIS, and Illustrator.
Desirable
Familiarity with the Fugro suite of processing tool is advantageous
Strong GIS skills
