Computergate Australia offers a full range of Partner & Managed Services to provide comprehensive and cost effective IT support services for all size businesses.We are currently seeking Casual IT Support Technicians for Tasmania regions to provide high levels of customer satisfaction through service teams, remotely and on-site.

Location: Bridgewater, Hobart, Tasmania

Duration of Project - Approximately 7days - Full time Business hours

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Familiarity with active directory (OU)
  • Outlook client profile creation (adding shared mailbox, PST files)
  • Familiarity with windows platform (Windows 7, windows 10)
  • Experience with Deployment activities (Imaging)
  • Prepare Build room: Connect switch, Power sockets, LAN cables, phone access, monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.
  • Collect new devices shipped by vendor from store, unpack devices(Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, Thin Clients)
  • Validate for any damaged devices, submit report and arrange for Onsite Replacement.
  • Identify user desk/office and Label new devices with user Id
  • Assist with any migration activities (for example: Ask the users to connect their machine to LAN network for data backup or assist users in case of any data backup issues)
  • Take new devices to build room/user's desk and carry out build activities as and when required
  • Unplug old device from desk
  • Plug in new device, connect network & boot up and any other peripherals required by user
  • Assist user to log in and to setup the new system
  • Daily Tracking & Reporting (details of devices connected, removed, etc)
  • Perform a disk wipe/data destruction as and when required as per the guidelines
  • Return old device to IT store/designated storage room
  • Migration tech will also be used as a Floor Walker in the event of User issues. However, if this prevents migration progress, Dispatch services will be used to address the user issues.

Key selection criteria

  • Technical expertise in End User technologies, including PC's, Point of Sale, Printers, Network devices, etc.
  • Good understanding of Logistics Management techniques
  • Strong personal time management skills and priority setting skills
  • Excellent communication & English skills (Fluent written & verbal a prerequisite)
  • Excellent customer liaison ability
  • Self motivation, proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Professional presentation
  • Ability to work unsupervised with strong problem solving skills.
  • Permanent Resident or citizen with full work rights in the country you are applying for.
