Deliver high quality and contemporary family-centered Paediatric Occupational Therapy services, with a focus on out-patient care, at The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) for children aged 0- 14 years.

About the Role

  • Deliver high level clinical Occupational Therapy services for paediatric outpatients at TPCH with minimal direct clinical supervision.

  • Undertake assessment, treatment and management of children, in a varied and complex caseload, considering their physical, social, psychological and cognitive needs using a variety of formal and informal materials, procedures and techniques at an advanced level.

  • Provide a service to children with standard and complex medical conditions, and their families, by assisting them to achieve their potential in areas of everyday functioning.

  • Develop and deliver clinical services incorporating, but not limited to, self-care concerns including functional continence and feeding issues, management of developmental delays and occupational performance issues, , sensory motor / processing issues, learning difficulties, fine and gross motor skill difficulties, paediatric anxiety, and early intervention and management programs.

  • Adapt clinical practice by applying valid and reliable evidence to facilitate complex and critical clinical decision making

  • Support the comprehensive and efficient delivery of care through negotiating care components with other providers for children with complex care needs and families.
