An opportunity has emerged for an experienced Environmental Compliance & Reporting Advisor to join the business and contribute to achieving health, security, safety, environmental and social performance goals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the regulatory compliance system
- Identify, review and manage the priority compliance and EMS risk areas, and drive continual improvements
- Provide analysis and associated technical advice to ensure regulatory compliance including seepage monitoring, waste, water quality, noise, ecology, reinstatement and rehabilitation
- Engage with key stakeholders to inform and mitigate environment regulatory compliance risk
- Imbed environment controls in the environmental management system
- Escalate high risk environment non-compliances to lead and manager
- Review front-end surveys and develop the environment component of access to work
- Prepare regulatory notifications and correspondence
- Support the implementation and development of ISO14001 certified environmental management system
- Coordinate and deliver internal assurance and audits
- Communicate and educate personnel on environmental compliance obligations
Knowledge and experience required:
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Planning, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Science, Law or equivalent
- 5+ years experience in a front-line environmental implementation role
- Regulatory interface experience including incident and audit
- Experience in environmental management systems, environmental regulations, permits, risk management and incident investigations
- Strong knowledge of land contamination, rehabilitation, waste and water discharges, biodiversity, soil and groundwater, greenhouse gases and energy management
- Flexibility to travel to Chinchilla and/or Gladstone
- Knowledge of state and federal environmental legislation and policies
- Experience in the development, implementation and improvement of ISO14001 certified Environmental Management Systems
