Position Summary:

Responsible for the Public Health Division, you are the senior executive charged with reducing avoidable harms to public health and safety through effective and proactive responses including reforms to health and human services regulation. The Deputy Secretary is a member of the department's Executive Board, and numerous Board reform sub-committees supporting the Secretary and Ministers to develop and implement government policy and deliver effective health and human services.

Are you

  • Highly experienced and knowledgeable in public health?
  • A leader who clearly translates the Government's and department's vision, directions and guiding principles into practical approaches and outcomes?
  • A leader who is politically aware and astute, builds cross-government collaboration with co-regulators, emergency management networks and other senior stakeholders?
  • A leader who can deal with concepts and complexity comfortably, uses analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems, has creative ideas and can reform to maintain effective regulation, public health and emergency operations and policy?
