About the Role
The Senior Server Administrator starting late February on a 12 month contract paying up to $800 a day + super. The role will primarily based in Sydney CBD with the flexible to work from home.
- Design, implement and operationally manage the enterprise server infrastructure and associated systems to achieve the unit’s primary business objective of a high quality, executive focused, ICT service to clients, with a focus on security, reliability of services and agility.
- Work professionally and collaboratively within the unit to efficiently and effectively resolve incidents, problems and requests, and promote the continuous exchange and enhancement of knowledge and skills within the unit.
- Act as a key resource in the planning, design and delivery of ICT projects, especially those highly dependent on the enterprise server infrastructure, providing advice that caters for the unit’s agility and alignment with Government and DPC strategies.
- Manage the procedures and practices which govern the operation of the Ministers’ IT network, maintaining a set of local standards of good service management practice (ITIL) that help to support the unit’s focus on security, reliability, responsiveness and continuity.
- Monitor and analyse trends and patterns relating to the enterprise server & system infrastructure to identify immediate and long term areas of improvement, emerging risks, vulnerabilities and threats, and to drive service improvement.
- Provide technical leadership to the organisation in the area of enterprise servers and associated systems. Critically review, evaluate and advise management on new technologies and future innovation for the Ministers’ IT network, to ensure its continuing agility, adaptability and relevance to clients.
- Practical experience in setup, configuration and operation support of Microsoft Back Office products including Exchange/Active Directory/Azure AD/IIS/ISA/DNS/WINS/DHCP/AD, HP 3PAR, Hyper-V/ VMWare and Citrix/VMWare VDI infrastructure ensuring full system availability.
- Support and maintain all back office systems and attached services across multiple sites in both physical and virtual environments.
- Knowledge and experience in the configuration and operational management of enterprise backup systems, archiving and managing storage to comply with specific data storage and retention policies.
- Demonstrated experience working within project teams, training and mentoring staff, and holding responsibility for supplying key deliverables.
- Practical experience in Office/Microsoft 365 and public cloud (Azure & AWS) migrations
