The Position
St John of God Bendigo Hospital has an exciting opportunity available for a suitably experienced Registered Nurse with a genuine passion in progressing their career into ward management to support the Nurse Unit Manager in leading a dynamic team of Caregivers as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) within the Theatre department.
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) acts as a responsible and effective team member, assists in the overall clinical management of the ward, is responsible for the provision of comprehensive patient care and supervision of care given by junior staff in accordance with the Nurses and Midwifery Board of Australia Scope of Practice and deputizes for and assists the Nursing Unit Manager.
This position will be offered on a 12 month Fixed Term basis, offering 60 hours per fortnight.
The successful candidate will have:

- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Recent acute experience in areas of specialty with a minimum of three (3) years post-graduate experience.
- Effective communication skills.
- Commitment to on-going education and self-directed learning.
- Ability to organise workloads, prioritise and meet timelines.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision and ability to communicate with others.
- Knowledge of acts and legislation that impact on the practice of nursing.
- Ability to educate patients, family and staff.
- Knowledge and skills of the principles of infection management.
- Ability to use initiative, demonstrate reliability and thereby require minimal supervision and guidance.
- Self-planning and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to supervise, give direction and delegate to the team.
