The Tasmanian Health Service is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Senior Physiotherapist-Acute Surgery vacancy.
Salary
$94,469 to $111,765 per annum *
*AHP03 Please note that access to salaries beyond $102,829 is subject to qualifications and application to the personal upgrade scheme as with Schedule 8 of the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019

Period of Employment
Permanent, full-time, day work (with on-call), working 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible.

Duties
Senior Physiotherapist –Acute Surgery
In the role of Senior Physiotherapist (Acute Surgery) you will provide optimal evidence-based physiotherapy to acute surgery patients at the Royal Hobart Hospital. In this role you will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment including the Cardiothoracic and Surgical wards to deliver evidence driven patient centred care. As a member of the physiotherapy cardiorespiratory team you will contribute to a culture of learning and foster leadership and innovation.
The Acute Surgery Senior Physiotherapist will perform duties including:
- Provide evidence driven patient centred physiotherapy care to surgical and cardiothoracic patients, facilitating patient flow, discharge planning and preventing hospital re-admission.
- Promote a learning culture supporting leadership and clinical supervision to physiotherapists, allied health assistants and undergraduate students
- Provide clinical expertise and professional education to Physiotherapy, Allied Health, Medical and Nursing Teams, and external agencies
- Foster innovation and support Quality Improvement and Service Delivery projects
Essential Requirements
- Registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check
Desirable Requirements
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- Post graduate qualifications, or working toward this in the identified clinical area.
