JOB DESCRIPTION

What will your typical day look like?
As an ER Manager in our Employee Relations CoE, you will report to our ER/WHS Director. In this role you will play an essential role in the coaching, advising and supporting our Business Units aligned Talent teams and offshore Talent Transaction Services teams in the successful management of employment relations matters.

You will provide specialist ER and ER case management advice to your internal stakeholders to mitigate risks and provide a positive employee experience whilst ensuring compliance with the relevant legislative frameworks and the Firm’s policies and procedures.

You will act as the escalation point for employee relations matters nationally and be responsible for providing expert guidance on best practice requirements, effective early intervention strategies and firm policy relating to employment relations. You will be responsible for ER reporting requirements as well as lead and support the firm’s National Director in complex case management and issue resolution. Also, you will also be required to provide expert advice on award and legislative interpretation to your internal stakeholders as required.

You will be adaptable, approachable, resilient, and pragmatic in your interactions with our diverse stakeholders. You will have substantial practical ER experience and an intimate knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and the Australian modern award framework.

You will be able to clearly, and respectfully, advise, coach and train your stakeholders on the Deloitte approach Australian employment law environment and how it applies to Deloitte’s business operations. You exercise discretion and confidentiality in your role and show empathy and fairness when providing your advice.

You are someone with:

  • A strong practical ER background
  • Demonstrated understanding of ‘best practice’ ER case management principles
  • Experience interpreting, and advising on, modern awards
  • Ability to think strategically and translate this into practical operational outcomes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to prioritise multiple tasks from multiple sources and meet deadlines
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude and a proactive approach to duties and tasks
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills
  • A passion for simplification and continuous improvement
  • Exemplary written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills are essential
