JOB DESCRIPTION

This local Stockbroker has developed a reputation second to none within a niche area committed to servicing their customers to the highest possible standard. They have become a well-respected industry player and currently have a vacancy for a Business Development Manager.

The successful candidate will be working closely with senior management to identify and acquire a target customer base across both Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer channels. You will be part of a team providing solutions to financial planners, investment managers and shadow brokers as well as white label solutions to other partners. 
 
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
 
• Building the client base by sourcing and converting prospective customers 
• Identifying sales opportunities and developing new revenue streams
• Building, modifying and maintaining outbound sales techniques
• Assisting with client profiling and marketing strategies 
• Excelling in active outbound calling 
• Customer relationship management and articulating client feedback to senior management 
• Preparation of presentations and proposals and attendance at sponsored events (expos, seminars, roadshows)

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • RG146 accreditation and relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance and Commerce 
  • Existing experience in a BDM role with 5- 10 years' experience in Australian financial markets or relevant overseas experience
  • Proven track record of relationship building within stockbroking and extensive knowledge of financial markets and investment products
  • Good planning and time management skills with the ability to prioritise sales in a structured manner 
  • Strong negotiation skills and high degree of self-motivation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commercial awareness and entrepreneurial approach with a strong customer focus with passion and enthusiasm for products and services
