About The Good Box

The Good Box is a start-up and social enterprise that creates beautifully packaged gift boxes for people experiencing homelessness in Australia. We’re on a mission to abolish misconceptions surrounding homelessness to prevent isolation and increase communication.

The idea is to give a box to someone you see experiencing homelessness OR to get it distributed by one of our awesome charity partners. We also offer engagement programs for school and corporates which aim to remove the stigma around homelessness, educate and connect.

The organisation is still very small and currently has two full time staff which are the co-founders Maddy and Gali as well as a casual ops coordinator. Our headquarters are in Brisbane.

About the role

We are seeking a progressive and adaptive marketing and admin professional to assist with all digital marketing efforts. This role is suited to someone who is studying marketing or has recently graduated. You will work closely with the co-founder in Townsville to develop and execute marketing strategies. The Good Box is currently experiencing growth and is looking for someone to help continue to take them to the next level.

Daily activities

  • Clearly set out marketing strategies and timelines
  • Create original social media content and copy
  • Assist the co-founder in developing marketing campaigns for different projects.
  • Create graphics
  • Social media Ad development and maintenance
  • Ensure the brand and social media channels have a cohesive feel
  • Work with website developers to update website content
  • Monthly reporting, create budgets
  • Ad hoc admin tasks such as data entry, reporting, design briefs, calling charity partners, and general customer service


Whilst we encompass a very casual and fun culture, we are looking for someone who is extremely passionate, sticks to deadlines, is communicative and shows initiative. We are also looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about our organisation and mission.

Your skills & expertise:

  • A marketing degree or similar is highly desirable (it is fine if you are still studying)
  • A love of social media and a proven track record in growing & maintaining a following/network.
  • Knowledge of social media Ad maintenance
  • Highly creative with an eye for detail, a confident communicator, and an ability to communicate with external suppliers to improve outcomes.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, a “can-do” attitude and a team player.
  • Good administrative skills
  • Having worked in the charity, NFP or social enterprise space is desirable but not essential
  • Competent with Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Has experience with designing assets using Canva or other design software.
  • Focused time management for deadlines

Working within a start-up means you may be doing work outside the scope of this role, but also means you will have hands-on, entrepreneurial experience to take your career to the next level.
