The Opportunity
We are seeking a Telecommunications Analyst to join our team in Canberra. As a Telecommunications Analyst you will conduct survey/analysis and reporting of unknown, new, unresolved and developing communications signals and methodologies to specialist teams, through environment monitoring, reporting and sampling.
Responsibilities
- Communications environment survey and discovery activities
- Conduct communications environment monitoring, reporting and sampling
- Conduct initial analysis and reporting of unknown, new, unresolved and developing communications signals and methodologies to specialist teams
- Support and evaluate the development and implementation of software solutions in support of communications environment and discovery capabilities and functions
- Develop, enhance and sustain customer relations and in doing so contribute to the communications environment awareness of team customers and the wider organisation
- Assist in the development and presentation of training for new and current team personnel.
Experience/Qualifications
To be successful you will have:
- Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with operations of Terrestrial or Satellite communications systems including: Satellite services and architecture, telecommunications environments and technologies, transmission standards and techniques, networking technologies and payload methodologies
- A well-developed ability to work autonomously and productively, while consistently meeting deadlines
- Ability to adapt to change using initiative, organisation and planning, and problem-solving skills
- High level ability and experience in identifying and analysing problems, developing and implementing remedial strategies and exercising initiative and responsibility
- You will seek to innovate manual work through the use of programming/scripting experience in Python or equivalent languages
- Applicants must be Australian citizens to meet defence security requirements
Security clearance
You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a high level Government security clearance (TSPV). Therefore, you MUST be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and MUST have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time.
