Source: uWorkin

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded, community-based emergency services organisations. We are proud of the work we do in protecting lives and property, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. CFA strives to be a values-based organisation and an organisation of choice for volunteers and employees, where people with a variety of skills, experiences and backgrounds all add value through the roles they perform.

About the Role:

This is an exciting and meaningful role for an energetic individual with sound experience in the development and implementation of risk-based plans, programs, projects and products.

As Community Risk Program Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting and facilitating effective delivery and implementation of a range of localised risk-based plans, programs, projects and products, ensuring consistency across CFA. You will support continuous improvement, development and implementation of regional plans, programs, projects and products; monitor and report on delivery progress and work collaboratively with regional members to identify and mitigate emerging risks. Further, detailed responsibilities will include:

• Provision of authoritative advice and input to regional Members and other senior internal and external stakeholders to support a consistent approach to risk-based programs and projects including Community Information Guides (CFA Local), Mobile Engagement Units and Local Response Plans.

• Facilitating and influencing stakeholder understanding and commitment to ensure an aligned approach to risk management activities, plans, programs, projects and products.

• Developing and maintaining cooperative, positive relationships with CFA management, staff and volunteers, local government and other key organisational and community stakeholders - gaining co -operation, influencing views and meeting timelines for delivery of projects, services and advice.

Please Note: Travel within Victoria is a requirement for this role.

About You:

To succeed in this important role, you will have demonstrable experience in the development and implementation of risk-based plans, programs, projects and products and sound understanding of project management practices including implementation and monitoring, in a bushfire context. Experience working with a volunteer / career fire brigade culture is a clear preference and you will have sound understanding of operational information/intelligence needs during an emergency event. Further requirements are a demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities and timelines: high level written and verbal communication skills and proven leadership skills.

This is an excellent opportunity to further your career within our close-knit and professional team.
