About us
The North West Metropolitan Area (NWMA) is a business unit of the Corporate Governance and Support group in the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
The NWMA accounts for approximately 1800 staff across 21 sites. These sites are located in either the North or West of the Area and deliver a range of services including: custodial services at prisons, Community Correctional Services, Youth Justice Services, Sheriff's Operations, Consumer Affairs, front of house enquiries (including Births, Deaths and Marriages applications) and management of community services (including Victims' Support across the area).
About the role
As the Justice Officer, you will be responsible for:
- delivering friendly, efficient customer service to clients of the Department of Justice and Community Safety
- providing consistent, timely and accurate administrative support to regional locations and staff
- provide corporate services support functions including finance and procurement, human resource and fleet and facility maintenance.
The position is based at the Werribee Justice Service Centre. However, it is an expectation of the role that the successful applicant is willing to support at other locations across either the North Metro (Broadmeadows, Coolaroo, Reservoir, South Morang, Tullamarine, and Heidelberg).
A driver's license is therefore preferred but not essential.
About you
As the Justice Officer, you will possess:
- well-developed computer skills
- an ability to manage conflict through understanding the motivations of others, acknowledging emotions of others, and actively listening
- experience in adhering to service excellence focusing on client satisfaction and maintaining service quality.
Keys to your success will be your highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to apply knowledge of policies to guide work and support decision-making.
