About us
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) is responsible for Victoria's COVID-19 Accommodation response, including:
• Mandatory quarantine for returned overseas travellers
• Emergency Accommodation for people that cannot safely isolate/quarantine in their accommodation.
The Victorian Chief Health Officer has mandated that all returning overseas travellers arriving in Victoria must go into mandatory quarantine for 14 days from the day of their arrival to help prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
In addition, DJCS is responsible for the operation of Victoria's Emergency Accommodation program for community members and their close contacts who have tested positive for COVID-19 and where an assessment has concluded that there are no other suitable alternative accommodation options for self-isolation.
Infection control and prevention is the primary objective of the mandatory quarantine and emergency accommodation programs.
About the role
As the Executive Director, Support and Performance, you will be responsible for:
- providing exemplary leadership, oversight and direction to staff undertaking complex work within tight timeframes
- driving a positive culture of excellence through the delivery of expert, efficient and contemporary advice, mentorship, and tailored business solutions to all executives, managers, and staff
- collaborating with specialised teams in relevant areas in the development of fit-for-purpose procedural strategies and policies
- developing a suitable staffing model to ensure the portfolio structure can scale up and down, according to volume requirements of the COVID-19 Accommodation program.
You will also be accountable for providing collaborative support to other portfolios in COVID-19 Accommodations program to ensure success of the wider program.
About you
As the Executive Director, Support and Performance, you will possess:
- demonstrated success in leading and managing a high performing multidisciplinary team to develop and deliver on major integrated workforce planning or policy related projects
- demonstrated experience in leading a large organisational structure involved in the management of high-risk, high-impact public safety portfolios
- computer skills with a working knowledge of the full range of Microsoft Windows and MS Office application suite software.
An appropriate qualification in Law, Contract Law, or contract management would be desirable.
