About the opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and suitably skilled individual to join our Urban Forest Management team with a focus on delivering the day to day, field-based arboriculture duties in a variety of work environments across the Darwin Municipality utilising both technical and leadership skills. You will have a desire to continue to learn and develop; focussing on customer service, best practice and continuous improvement whilst having a balanced approach to the management of trees within the urban environment.

The role includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Actively engage in the planning and delivery of Arboriculture related tasks in consultation with the team leader
  • Coordinate the daily work requirements and resources of the Urban Forest Management team to ensure work objectives are met
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and support to team members within the scope of works and contemporary arboriculture practices
  • Maintain updated knowledge of relevant legislation and permit requirements for all works undertaken by the landscaping team
  • Comply with City of Darwin's Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures
  • Ensure daily team administrative tasks are completed

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • Certificate III Arboriculture
  • General Construction Induction (White Card)
  • Possession of EWP Operators Certificate
  • Medium Rigid (MR) Vehicle Licence
  • Chainsaw Operator Certificate
  • Provide First Aid (including CPR and Basic Emergency life support)

At City of Darwin, we offer competitive remuneration with generous leave entitlements. This position has a commencing base salary of $68,858 per annum.
