About the Role

The Occupational Therapist seeks to enhance purposeful activities through initial assessments, developing appropriate care plans and therapy programs for aged care residents within Guildford Village, enabling them to achieve their maximum potential and to live as independently as possible.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the pain clinic through delivery of 4A and 4B services to residents.
  • Assessing and evaluating Occupational Therapy needs and developing care plans that support the maintenance of our clients' independence.
  • Contributing to the implementation, review and evaluation of Occupational Therapy care plans.
  • Working with residents to support the restoration of independence.
  • Assessing clients, identifying their individual goals, planning and implementing interventions using a range of techniques as appropriate.
  • Establishing effective communication and working relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Carrying out scheduled leisure activities and pain management strategies.
  • Taking responsibility for the management of own caseload with support and supervision.
  • Monitoring, analysing and evaluating services in order to measure progress and ensuring effectiveness of the intervention.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification (Occupational Therapy).
  • Current APHRA registration.
  • Experience with pain management strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver therapy based programs.
  • Police Clearance (in the past 12 months)
  • Proof of working rights - passport; birth certificate; visa
  • Valid West Australian driver’s licence
  • A reliable vehicle


Desirable requirements:

  • Previous experience working in an aged care setting.
