The opportunity

CPA Australia is preparing to launch a transformative new program which supports members providing public accounting services. The CPA Best Practice Program will kick-off with a pilot in May 2021, and we are seeking members to join the Best Practice team, to help make a difference by leading, educating, and mentoring public practice members.

Most of all, it's an opportunity to give back to your profession by helping advance trusted and valued accounting and business professionals who go on to enhance their communities.

Key responsibilities

Conduct virtual Best Practice peer assessments for new Public Practice Certificate (PPC) holders, in collaboration with the CPA Australia Best Practice Team,
Develop post-assessment Support Plans, personalised to each individual’s business needs,
Provide personalised coaching on business set-up and professional obligations, with guidance and tools to build a best practice firm,
Assist in promoting learning agility through constructive transfer of knowledge using strong communication skills.

What we are looking for in a Peer Assessor

CPA member with a current Public Practice Certificate;
Experience and expertise working full-time in public accounting services;
Good knowledge of the accounting profession, and the Accounting Professional and Ethical Standards (APES) framework;
Experience in a coaching or mentoring role;
Has not been the subject of adverse findings by any professional association disciplinary committee in the last 5 years or currently under investigation; and
Has not been the subject of adverse findings by any government regulatory body in the last 5 years or currently under investigation

More information about the position

A Peer Assessor training program will commence on 11 May 2021 and run for approximately 2 weeks. You will need to be available for training during this time;
The training program will be a mix of e-learning and facilitated workshops;
This position is an 8-month contractor position designed to be undertaken while continuing in your current working arrangements (April 2021 - December 2021);
Remuneration will be an attractive hourly rate for work performed at our direction;
Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed;
Opportunities are available in all parts of Australia and New Zealand, and you do not need to live in a Capital city to apply; and
If you’re successful you will be asked to sign a contract in the form of a Statement of Work (SoW).
