Purpose Of Role

This role requires a highly experienced Analytical Scientist in Finished Goods with a successful track record in Health & Nutrition, Complementary Medicines or Pharma manufacturing. Key focus areas of the role are; strong analytical and communication skills (verbal and written), internal customer and relationship building skills, superior understanding of GMP-GLP and QC Laboratory operating systems, continuous improvement and a strong commitment to Team work.

Responsibilities Include

• High level of instrumentation skills (HPLC, GC) for testing complex products such as; multiple actives and multivitamin soft gels and tablets using Waters Empower software (highly advantageous)
• Strong problem-solving, data analysis and advanced OOS investigation skills, including report writing and results
• Following instructions to produce accurate test results in tight timelines
• Ability to work in a very dynamic and fast paced commercial Laboratory utilising flexibility and time management skills
• Multi-tasking successfully with a variety of product tests, instruments and projects
• Utilising your Chemistry knowledge, expertise and experience to adopt new testing techniques
• Understanding, identifying and communicating issues with existing test methods (flag when things aren’t right) and assisting with rectification
• Method development and validation exposure and experience
• Ensuring that all jobs are conducted in accordance with EHS and GMP-GLP requirements and Blackmores’ Quality Systems
• Ensuring all work, tasks and reports are completed on time and in accordance with organisational standards
• Contributing to customer satisfaction through work excellence
• Analytical and critical thinking, time management, effective decision making and problem-solving skills
• Supporting the unit leader on scheduling testing and releasing finished products and technical report writing

Who are you?

• Bachelor of Science or Chemistry coupled with HPLC/GC/UV or other quantitative wet chemistry experience in a commercial QC Laboratory
• Advanced level understanding of Pharmaceutical (preferred) testing with particular focus on Health & Nutrition and Complementary Medicine products
• Proficient understanding of GMP-GLP functions of a QC Laboratory along with internal auditing experience
• High standard of computer literacy
• Excellent problem-solving, data analysis, interpretative and reporting skills
• Excellent Leadership skills; work collegiately with others (internal and external), plan and coordinate own workload and others and accept responsibility at an individual and Team level
• Demonstrate continuous learning and application of new information, skills and knowledge
• Manage competing priorities and meet deadlines for both the Team and self
• Legally work in Australia on an ongoing, permanent basis as this is a permanent position
