The opportunity
Joining a federal government agency that is transforming the disability sector, as a Practice Officer in the Early Childhood Services (ECS) Branch. The ECS branch focuses on the delivery and implementation of the agencies Early Childhood Early Intervention Approach for children under seven years of age and their families. You will be working alongside the National and State Practice & Operations teams responsible for assisting Agency Partners and National Delivery teams with the implementation of the ECEI Approach across the country. As an APS6 Practice Officer you will provide technical, policy, professional, operational support, and advice in relation to complex cases. This role will require team leadership and management responsibilities.
This position is an initial 12-month contract with options to extend and is offering an hourly rate of $51.50 +superannuation. This opportunity is based in Geelong, VIC.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with the branch, division, and wider organisation to support the understanding of the Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach
- Enhance key stakeholder understanding and interpretation of legislative and policy frameworks.
- Provide advisory support to facilitate understanding of best practice within early childhood intervention.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and have input into strategic direction.
- Derive meaningful and actionable information from data.
- Support the delivery of training packages with partner trainers and the training team.
- Previous experience in a similar position interpreting legislation and policy
- Relevant qualifications Allied Health or Early Childhood sector is HIGHLY desirable.
- An understanding of Early Childhood Intervention
- Previous experience in disability sector or working with individuals of complex supports needs.
- Previous leadership experience
