About the role

TAIHS has an opportunity for an experienced Bail Support Service Team Coordinator to join our team. In this varied and challenging position, you will be responsible for the effective running and coordination of the service; staff, operations, budgets, and strategy - along with program management and service delivery, supporting optimal care, with the aim of delivering equitable access for all clients. To achieve this aim, the position has a strong focus on building and developing the workforce by providing mentorship and leadership to workers through supervision, establishing and supporting best practice case management approaches.

Each day will be distinct; however, your key everyday jobs will include:

Building and strengthening service partnerships both internally and externally
Working closely with at risk through to high-risk offenders and their families
Supporting the day-to-day operations of the Bail Support Service
Ensuring appropriate processes are documented and in place and that staff are allocated / delegated responsibilities clearly through a documented approach
Coordinating an audit program to ensure case management plans are complied with
Reviewing and managing workloads appropriately for each staff member
Managing a team of Bail Support Officers, identifying their training needs, and developing strategies and plans to support them in the development of their skills
Facilitating and encouraging collaborative working arrangements with other TAIHS Internal Services both operationally and strategically
Overseeing quality assurance to maintain ISO/HSQF/ other relevant accreditation, meeting all quality management tasks and reports by required timeframes

About you

With your previous experience, you will be able to lead and develop a dedicated high performing team in working closely with at risk through to high-risk offenders and their families.

With excellent interpersonal skills as part of your skillset, you are able to easily build rapport with people with diverse backgrounds and interests.

Your empathetic nature makes you approachable, and a good problem solver, who can think quickly on your feet to make sound decisions.

You have an understanding of the historical, social, cultural, and economic issues effecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Additionally, your effective communication skills, enables you to liaise comfortably with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

To be suitable for this position, your qualifications & licenses for the role will consist of:

Minimum Cert IV in Community Services, Youth Justice or equivalent
Diploma in Community Services, Youth Justice, Social Work or Psychology (highly regarded)
Previous experience in a similar role in a relevant industry
Previous experience in a management position having taken responsibility for staff, operations, budgets, strategy, and program delivery and hold relevant qualification
QLD Driver’s Licence (unrestricted)
Current Blue Card (working with children and young people)
Satisfactory Police Check - no Serious/Criminal/Court Record
