JOB DESCRIPTION

This Government agency is designed to enhance the lives of many Australians across the country. They have a senior position opportunity for a Liaison Officer in Midland to commence 1st March 2021, subject to national police clearance. This role is due to last 12 months, subject to business requirements and pays $51.50 p/h + Super.

Working within the Complex Support Needs Branch provides specialised support for people with disability with additional complexity due to situational and personal factors. The Liaison role supports Health and Justice System staff to co-ordinate care for existing participants transitioning back community living and prospective participants.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Liaising with Agency business areas to ensure participants have appropriate supports in place within health or justice settings, and when transitioning into community
  • Assisting with challenges or delays in access or planning decisions
  • Providing guidance and advice regarding the schemes processes and procedure
  • Liaising with participants in hospital or justice settings
  • Building networks across the health or justice sector, raising awareness and representing the scheme at networking and cross-agency forum
  • Providing clear and regular communications to promote understanding of the scheme to external stakeholders in health or justice settings.

Your skills and characteristics:

  • Expert and liaising, negotiating and communicating
  • Knowledge of the workings of health and justice systems (desirable)
  • Analytic and problem solving ability
  • Desire to contribute to the well-being of participants
