Your new role

We have an exciting position available for an engaging and innovative Administrator to join the WA School of Mines on the Perth campus on a fixed term basis. This varied role will provide administrative support to academic and professional staff within WASM: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering.The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills with the ability to liaise with a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders within a dynamic school.

This fantastic opportunity offers job variety and career development for a highly efficient and mature individual.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Providing support to HDR students and staff
  • General operational administrate support
  • Monitoring the School’s building, equipment and associated assets
  • Assisting with finance duties, invoicing etc
  • Provide strategic and general administrate support to the School Business Manager
  • Formatting documents
  • Compiling reports
  • Organizing events and promotions
  • Update and management of the School’s website
  • Industry Engagement
Experience required:
  • Extensive experience in coordinating the administrative requirements of a busy office
  • Ability to maintain a duty of confidentiality
  • Flexible approach to work and the ability to apply skills to a varied range of different tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing tasks
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills, particularly in the Microsoft suite of applications
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to use discretion and knowledge to determine appropriate actions
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
  • Previous office management/project management experience is desirable
