SVHM is one of Australia's leading Catholic not-for-profit healthcare providers.About Department6 West is a 20 bed unit compromising of acute Haematology and Oncology beds. 6 West operates as part of a dynamic and supportive team that upholds strong values of providing high quality care to our patients and excellent communication between all health professionals from all disciplines.About the RoleExciting opportunity exists to progress your career as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager.The Associate Nurse Unit Manager, in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager, will administer and manage the professional and operational resources of the unit. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager, under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager, will be responsible for providing mentoring and leadership to the Nursing Team.Classifications for this position will range from YW11 – YW12 ($97,770.40 - $ 101, 056.80 per annum).DutiesLead and direct nursing staff to ensure a high standard of patient care is deliveredSupport the NUM with the daily running of the ward including bed management, staff management and attending relevant meetingsAct as a clinical role model by providing the highest standard of direct patient careImplement and support organisational change as directed by the Nurse Unit ManagerSupport and assist the Nurse Unit Manager in achieving specific Key Performance Indicators as developed for the unit.Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceBachelor of Nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of AustraliaCurrent nursing registration with AHPRAExtensive experience in Haematology and Oncology nursing is essentialPost graduate qualification in Cancer Nursing highly desirableDemonstrate excellent communication skillsExcellent time management and organisational skillsDemonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary teamBenefitsSalary packagingEmployee Assistance ProgramStaff Health CentreStaff Car Park
