Due to growth our client is seeking a Communications Lead for an initial 6-month contract with extensions to join their team based in the outer South Eastern suburbs. Reporting to the Manager of Communications and Marketing, you will be working on an exciting Transformation Program providing strategic comms advice and input, develop comms strategies, plans and activities and implement agreed comms initiatives. You will be working collaboratively with employees at all levels across the organisation including services providers to support the organisation Communication Strategy and requirements.

Job description:

  • Establish strong, effective relationships across the organisation and ensure a sound understanding of the communication needs, challenges & opportunities within Transformation Program of work.
  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate robust, measurable, integrated communication strategies and implementation plans within an omni-channel environment to support agreed projects and initiatives
  • Create, deliver, and monitor engaging and targeted internal & external communication materials to support the delivery of agreed communication strategies and plans
  • Provide well informed, strategic, and timely communication advice and input to internal clients, ensuring Strategic Communications is positioned as a trusted business partner and strategic adviser
  • Prepare, monitor, and report on the implementation & evaluation of communication plans & activities
  • Provide advice to staff on communications collateral including content, structure, format, production, distribution, and evaluation
  • Provide advice, support and coaching to internal departments and divisions, including Managers and Directors, on well researched, contemporary communication practices to improve standards of communication that support embedding customer oriented and positive stakeholder engagement practices within the organisation
  • Monitor the effectiveness of communications strategies and activities and recommend enhancements where appropriate

To apply you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary or higher qualification in professional communication, journalism, media studies or a related discipline or relevant professional experience
  • Significant professional experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating communication strategies and plans
  • Extensive experience in effectively engaging a range of stakeholders
  • Significant experience in working closely with executives and senior managers in a change
