We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Associate/Senior Associate to join our Victorian WorkCover Authority team in Melbourne.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be commercial in their thinking and approach, possess sound technical skills and have the ability to cope with a varied and intellectually stimulating workload.

Candidates will have a proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate the needs of clients.

Key responsibilities include:


  • Dealing with originating motion, damages and statutory benefits litigation;
  • Providing written advice and recommendations regarding serious injury;
  • Gathering evidence;
  • Drafting briefs;
  • Preparing and advocating mediation in Supreme and County Court proceedings;
  • Knowledge of Court Rules;
  • Management of own files in relation to Court timetable;
  • Time recording and billing;
  • Supervision and coaching of Junior Lawyers;
  • Other tasks as directed by Principals;

Skills / Knowledge:

  • Excellent drafting skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and strong relationship building skills.
  • Well developed and effective Business Development skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Sound financial housekeeping skills.
