About The Team

The Infrastructure and Place (IP) division is in the process of delivering an ambitious and once-in-a generation multi-billion program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. The role sits within the Development branch, which is responsible for the development of infrastructure and place projects that facilitate economic, social and environmental outcomes for the people of NSW.

The Pipeline Management team is accountable for client and key stakeholder interfaces across Transport for NSW and government, as well as setting strategy and driving excellence and efficiency in business case development.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Executive Director Pipeline Management, you will be responsible for leading approaches for ‘excellence’ in business case development in the Development Branch. You will work closely with agencies, client and corporate divisions and key stakeholders to implement and maintain a scalable, robust, consistent and integrated approach to business case development.

This is an opportunity to lead and develop an environment of successful business case development that facilitates alignment to key strategic initiatives, Transport agency investment frameworks and delivers value for money outcomes for NSW.

About You

You are a tertiary qualified, experienced major projects development professional looking for an opportunity to shape development at multi-billion dollar level.

  • You will have demonstrated experience leading the development of large scale, complex transport or infrastructure related business cases typically at multi-billion dollar level.
  • You will possess strong commercial acumen.
  • You understand the importance of building strong, robust end-to-end business cases.
  • You will have experience and passion for developing comprehensive, thorough and integrated approaches to business case development, with experience in delivering effective, cohesive and robust business case outcomes.
  • You will have experience developing innovative strategies during project development and investment assurance activities, to support optimal solutions for clients and communities.
  • You will understand the balance of addressing customer requirements whilst adhering to other regulatory, policy, government and operational conditions.
  • You will have demonstrated experience building, leading, motivating and guiding very effective and accomplished teams.
  • You are an influencer.
  • You will understand how to build, shape and solve outcomes.
  • You have the ability to articulate complex concepts and put forward compelling arguments and rationales to all levels and types of audiences.
  • You champion a customer-centric ethos.
  • You will have an understanding of how Transport for NSW delivers on environmental strategies and policies.
  • You bring a deep understanding of and experience in building and fostering a culture of sharing of knowledge and innovation.
