The Residential Division of ITW is Australia and New Zealand’s leading supplier of fastener products and home to construction solutions across respected brands such as Buildex, Paslode, Pryda and Stockade to Residential construction market.


What you can expect

Reporting to the Product Innovation Manager, this hands on Market Insights role will be responsible for driving the direction of the market insights program following ITW’s new product development process. As a Market Insights lead you will actively gather insights from end users and channel partners. You will be attending building sites to observe current building and application methods and communicate directly with the various customer touch points to help you gain valuable insights which will help unlock new product development opportunities.

Some of the ways this role will support our strategy and plans:

  • Driving new product development process to develop deep market insights and understanding unmet needs
  • Develop business cases based on understanding of market and customer needs to support development of new innovations.
  • Using Insights gained from the field to help make recommendations to key stakeholders on the opportunities which deliver the most value.
  • Supporting validation of innovation concepts and prototypes with target segments.
  • Leading new innovation projects through the stage gate process.

A bit about you:

We're looking for an energetic self-starter who brings strong attention to detail and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves!

  • Tertiary trained engineering, marketing or, related business qualification
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to gather insights directly from building contractors onsite and customer channel partners
  • Strong ability to analyse customer insights and market information to form recommendations
  • Demonstrates a broad understanding of project dynamics and the ability to point to examples of project leadership
  • Computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience in the construction industry
  • New product development experience
  • Product or Category Management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership or significant involvement in a market research project or a strong desire and aptitude for research marketing
