An opportunity exists for a highly motivated, trade qualified Mechanical Fitter Technician to join a major long term contract of the PPP (Public-Private-Partnership) division at Spotless. This position will be based at the Australian National University, located in Acton ACT.
The Role
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, and working with the Asset Planning Manager and Contract Manager, you will be responsible for working alongside the HVAC technician, undertaking building and equipment maintenance, and repairs to the ANU building facilities within the contract scope.
The primary scope of the role will involve day-to-day maintenance and repairs on all equipment, undertaking new installations and/or replacements of equipment, provide assistance in the service delivery of all aspects of the contract. This role will deliver a high standard or work in line with the company, contractual, and legislative and safety procedures.
This role is a full time position, at 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday which incorporates a weekly 'on-call' roster, an RDO every 4 weeks, and some afternoon and weekend work as required.
To be successful in this role, you must:
hold a qualification/trade licence as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent
minimum of 5 years commercial experience
experience working in facilities maintenance advantageous
be prepared to undertake a police background check
be prepared to undertake pre-employment medical and drug test checks
have the ability to obtain and maintain a Working with Vulnerable People check
In addition, you must be able to follow a standard operating procedure or work instruction in a logical and ordered way, have excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and time management skills, must be energetic, flexible, resilient with a 'can-do' attitude, ability to work in a team environment, and embrace the Spotless Zero Harm culture - ensuring safety is always your first priority.
