JOB DESCRIPTION

Kin Mining NL is a rapidly growing ASX-listed gold exploration and development company, which is well advanced in the exploration of a new, large West Australian open mining project. 

The Company is excited by the growth potential of the project area and holds a significant land position of over 400km2 near the regional town of Leonora. A number of exciting exploration targets have been identified across the prospective greenstone belts and will be tested in the immediate future.

This is a unique opportunity for a well-rounded Project Exploration Geologist to join Kin Mining NL in a permanent full time role. Leonora based, on an 8:6 roster at an exciting point in our development this role reports to the Senior Exploration Geologist and Exploration Manager. The successful candidate will add value via assisting in the development and execution of effective exploration programs by drawing upon their experience and insight, resulting in the discovery of new resources and reserves.

Main duties will include:

  • Maintain the exploration drilling programs (in conjunction with the Senior Exploration Geologist and Exploration Manager);
  • Maintain programs to ensure that accurate records and information systems are established for critical geological data;
  • Assist in the development of exploration and drilling programs;
  • Ensure that all personnel working under the ultimate direction of the Senior Exploration Geologist (contractors, consultants and field personnel) are supervised and receive adequate instruction from a responsible person;
  • Work with the Senior Exploration Geologist to help develop empirical and conceptual models based on a sound knowledge of Archaean gold and other mineral deposits;
  • Drill rig supervision; geological logging; geological interpretation; ensure sampling quality is maintained. Ensure drilling is completed to appropriate standards and is cost effective;
  • Conduct and maintain a geological and geotechnical mapping program;

Key Skills

  • A Master’s degree in Geology from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Substantial drill program experience: planning, supervision, logging, data validation and database management (Diamond, RC and AC).
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in Archean Orogenic Gold mineralisation systems. 
  • A minimum of 2 years geotechnical experience.
  • Strong skills in Micromine and MapInfo essential.
  • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written, in technical reporting and general communications on site.
  • Strong 4WD competency will be essential during the regional exploration campaigns and as such advanced and remote 4WD experience is required. A current WA class C manual driver’s license is essential.
  • St Johns Senior First Aid certificate (desirable).

The successful candidate will be available for immediate start, willing to work irregular rosters in remote locations, prepared to set up and stay in temporary fly camps during regional exploration campaigns and be a happy and willing member of the fly camp community.
