About the Position

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a unique opportunity to join the leadership team of a mature startup technology business to establish and grow a sales team working closely with the founder and Directors to drive growth across the business.

Joining a team of 10, soon to be 15+ people, this is a new role that will need to be flexible in setting up the foundations of activity in both sales and marketing. To be successful in this role, you must be a proven leader within your field, proactive and have a passion for technology based products and simplifying communication to clients in layman’s speak.

Key Responsibilities include:-

  • Leading the sales process and strategy by firstly building the business themselves before being able to ultimately recruit a supporting sales team.
  • Grow the business outside of South Australia.
  • Establishing the appropriate sales tools and processes.
  • Driving an action orientated, high performance sales culture.
  • Managing, delivering, and reporting on sales targets and budgets.
  • Developing, implementing, and executing sales strategies across the inbound, outbound, and partner channels.
  • Being a core member of the management team involved in broader strategic discussions and planning.
  • Managing the strategies to execute on sales and growth targets.
  • Regularly analysing sales data and performance and driving a continuous improvement culture.
  • Directing the Marketing team and external resources required to ensure suitable and appropriate lead generation activities in line with budgets.

To be successful for this position, you must be able to demonstrate:-

  • 5+ years prior experience in senior sales management roles within the IT technology space achieving successful results.
  • 5-10 years prior experience in product-based B2B SaaS and identifying and matching appropriate sales and marketing strategies required.
  • Prior experience in developing a sales strategy Australia wide.
  • Exposure to providing input on different pricing models.
  • Prior experience and confidence in setting up a sales team from scratch.
  • Understanding of marketing requirements to support a sales process (relevant to product) and prior exposure to leading marketing resources (internal or external).
  • Ability to drive and deliver on a process.
  • High digital literacy and exposure to relevant marketing and sales tools.
  • Excellent written, spoken skills and the ability to engage and connect with people.
  • A passion for the technology space with an ability and strength in translating complex language to laymen’s speak for the purposes of writing marketing and sales collateral.
  • High energy, positive, outgoing, and resilient.
  • Passion for building and managing teams with a high-performance culture.
  • A passion for customer service and sales.
  • Professionalism in all aspects of the role.
  • Problem solving abilities and a high degree of initiative and able to identify areas of improvement.
  • Inspiring leadership and ability to be positive contributor to the team.
