The Regulatory Legal Services Branch (RLSB) is seeking to recruit talented, motivated and passionate lawyers with outstanding technical and interpersonal skills to add to its team of exceptional lawyers providing a range of in-house legal services to support the regulatory functions of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).

The role would suit critical thinkers with a passion for administrative law, enforcement law and regulatory law; who have a keen eye for detail and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

RLSB provides a diverse range of legal and related services to support the TGA’s role in safeguarding and enhancing the health of the Australian community through effective and timely regulation of therapeutic goods including:
  • advising on the application of legislation administered by the TGA and assisting with the making of robust administrative decisions made under that framework;
  • advising on compliance and enforcement matters and managing civil penalty proceedings;
  • representing and appearing for the Minister in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal;
  • managing judicial review proceedings in the Federal Court and the Federal Circuit Courts;
  • working closely with the clients to continuously improve the regulatory framework;
  • advising on and drafting contracts for goods and services, Memoranda of Understanding and legislative instruments; and
  • providing legal training to TGA officers.
