Our opportunity

The Assistant Director will be responsible for leading the Employment Conditions Unit and will be required to provide expert and strategic advice on, and develop, the department’s employment conditions policies and strategies.

The principal accountabilities and responsibilities include:
provision of employment conditions policy advice to managers and employees
developing and maintaining HR policies
managing the development of Individual Flexibility Arrangement (IFA) instruments where individual conditions have been approved by the AGD delegate
preparing remuneration and conditions determinations for AGD SES employees as required
maintaining AGD HR delegations
provision of secretariat services to the AGD Workplace Relations Committee
managing AGD industrial relations issues
liaising and maintaining collaborative relationships with HR areas across the department and with AGD Portfolio HR managers
supervisory responsibilities
development of knowledge and skills in employment conditions matters of team members and other HR professionals across AGD.
