Financial Crime Risk Analyst, 6 months fixed term contract

The Financial Crime Risk division within Macquarie's Risk Management Group provides compliance support and advice to Macquarie's operating businesses. Financial Crime Risk staff are aligned with Macquarie's operating businesses, assisting those businesses to manage their financial crime risks.

As a Financial Crime Risk Analyst your main responsibility will be to support the day to day activities of Projects within the Financial Crime Risk team with its AML/CTF, Sanctions and Anti-Bribery & Corruption responsibilities. This role will sit within the Australia FCR central team and reports to the Regional Head of FCR in Australia. The role will initially be a six month fixed term contract, with scope for a full time role in the future.

You will be assisting with delivery of outcomes through the prioritisation of project initiatives and preparation of regulatory interactions with the AML/CTF regulator, AUSTRAC. You will carry out regulatory due diligence screening as transaction support and maintain investigation notes in response to transaction/business support. At times, you will need to initiate investigations using Financial Crime Risk and business wide software and identify trends and themes from business referrals for intelligence purposes.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • Experience in a similar role in AML, Fraud monitoring or investigations but not essential.
  • Knowledge of banking operation, this could include previous experience in an Operations or Operational Risk role.
  • Knowledge of AML/CTF legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of the financial services industry and the regulatory environment.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong writing, presentation and verbal communication skills to inform or influence specific audiences.
  • The ability to multi-task priorities, manage deadlines and pick up new ideas and concepts quickly.
  • An inquiring mind and methodical approach with high attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
