Java Developer
Sydney

Join the Futures Clearing Development team to create software to support the critical business that clears exchange traded derivatives. You will join a multi-talented, diverse team across three geographical locations and implement solutions in a fast-paced and high performing environment.

You will be a highly motivated individual with a strong background in Computer Science/ Software Engineering. You are meticulous, thorough and possess excellent communication skills to engage with all levels of our stakeholders. As a self-starter, you are up-to-speed with the latest developments in the tech world.

In The Role, You Will

  • be mainly responsible for the design and development of Futures Clearing proprietary systems as Software Developer
  • work closely with Futures Clearing business to understand requirements and design clearing software solutions, focused on revenue generation initiatives
  • deliver high quality code that is thoroughly tested and optimised, mostly based on but not limited to Java technology
  • build automated testing during the delivery of the software
  • provide maintenance and enhancements to the existing code base
  • contribute to the ongoing evolution of our platform design and tool chain
  • have a good understanding of security policies and restrictions that apply to Tier One and creating solutions that comply with these rules.


To Be Successful In The Role, You Will Have
  • 3 years of industrial experience in Java technology such as Java, JSP, JavaScript, Spring, Hibernate, Messaging
  • RDBMS and SQL experience including performance tuning and database design
  • familiarity with Source Code Control tools like git
  • experience on Unix/Linux and shell script
  • rapid learning and willingness to work with technologies and languages you are or are not familiar with.


Ideally, You Will Also Have
  • familiarity with CI/CD tools like Bamboo, uDeploy, Jenkins
  • AngularJS, HTML 5, CSS, Bootstrap, Sass/ Less, NodeJS, Typescript
  • AWS, OpenStack experience
  • Kafka, MongoDB, kubernetes and Microservices Architecture
  • knowledge of end-to-end Futures Clearing processing and data flow.
