The Company

Due to growth and continued success in the eastern region, this well known electrical engineering services provider and systems integrator is now looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead their Brisbane office.

This business provides a comprehensive range of electrical, power and control systems solutions mining, mineral, resources and heavy industries with their end goal to deliver high quality engineering services that allow their Clients to improve safety, production, reliability and overall efficiency of their operations.

The Role

This position spearheads the Queensland leadership team and reports directly to the General Manager. As such you will be operationally responsible for engineering and project delivery, strategic planning and financial operation of the eastern region as well as play a critical role in the ongoing business development strategy of the region.

Your core responsibilities will include:-

  • Engineering Management and Project Delivery for a range of mining and minerals related projects including a % of billable engineering or Project Management time (Electrical)
  • Involvement in the strategic direction of the business and responsible for ensuring the business has the relevant resources, skills and technology to meet current and future demands.
  • Playing a critical role in the ongoing business development strategy and activities and displaying a level of competence in identifying new opportunities with new and existing customers
  • Financial and operational management of the QLD office ensuring they meet agreed to efficiency, revenue and profitability targets.

Key Skills and Competencies Required

  • Electrical Engineering degree with extensive knowledge and experience in general electrical or power systems specifically within the mining and minerals industry
  • Significant experience or involvement within the mining, minerals, resources or heavy industries ideally representing an EPCM or leading consultancy.
  • Proven leadership ability in a similar role or environment where you have lead teams of engineering and project staff.
  • Previous experience in P&L / financial and budgetary management of an engineering or services business.
  • The ability to communicate directly and clearly at all levels of the business

This is a key position within the Australian leadership group and will provide genuine career advancement opportunities, in line with performance. You will be rewarded with a negotiable salary package circa $200,000 - $250,000 including base, super and car allowance (if applicable).
