Consumer Banking Risk (CBR) is a centre of expertise for risk management and compliance across the whole of the Consumer Banking Division and provides strategy, risk appetite, compliance, governance, policy and framework support to the businesses within Consumer Banking to drive sound risk and compliance management practice.

Third Party Banking (TPB) is a division of Consumer Banking that delivers suitable lending solutions to customers via their preferred intermediaries and advisors. The division, from a distribution perspective, is divided into Strategic Partners, Mortgage (Manager) Partners and Mortgage Broker/Aggregators.

About the role

We have an opportunity for a collaborative Risk and Compliance Manager - ThirdParty Reviews and the role is responsible for a number of key matters in relation to implementing and managing the risk and compliance framework within Consumer Banking. This position reports to the Senior Manager Risk and Compliance but also works closely with other members of the Consumer Risk team, various Consumer Banking business units and Group Operational Risk to enhance the further development of a strong risk and compliance culture.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide 1st line support in the creation, management and enhancement of the Operational Risk framework across the Strategic Partner, Mortgage (Manager) Partner and Mortgage Broker/Aggregator groups;
  • Provide 1st line risk support (RCSA Change assistance) of new transactions (which may be with Partners, direct establishment or acquisitions);
  • 1st line lead for the activities, monitoring and reporting over Strategic Partner, Mortgage (Manager) Partner and Mortgage Broker/Aggregator under the Partner and Aggregator assurance programs; 
  • 1st line lead for ensuring that Key Risk Indicator metrics are collected and reported in the monthly BUH Risk packs. That metrics are actioned and monitored via the risk packs by TPB BUH/Senior Manager and escalate to Senior Manager of Consumer Risk-TPB as required.

About you

  • Essential: Demonstrated Operational Risk and/or Compliance experience in Banking & Financial Services (Line 1 or 2).
  • Sound understanding of an enterprise risk management framework, and/or Consumer Banking’s operations, products, policies and procedures is a bonus.
  • Previous experience in Third Party (Broker) Mortgage industry is highly desirable either in a Risk, Audit or Business role.
  • Experience in analysing and interpreting financial services legislation.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Sound report writing and minute taking skills.
  • Self-driven, inquisitive, highly motivated, adaptable, ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management to deliver on organisational outcomes.
